monkey cages, Zoo Negara (KL)

photo taken 2 August 2006
I really can't remember, I know there were macaques and leaf monkeys. I may be going back there later this year so I'll have another look if I do

lar and siamang gibbons, stump-tail and bonnet macaques, olive baboons, vervets and common and dusky langurs

The zoo has got rid of almost all its monkeys and these cages are now largely used for housing hornbills. The only monkeys currently at the zoo are a group of bonnet macaques, and one old lion-tailed macaque and one old stump-tailed macaque. Other primates are siamang and white-handed gibbons in some of these cages; and orangs and chimps elsewhere in the zoo.
