A day in the life of the zoo's elephants. Notice the chains.

Is there an elephant exhibit at the zoo that has grass and dirt or do the elephants spend a great part of their day chained up on concrete? One never knows when glancing through the Asian zoo gallery on this site as some zoos appear to be horrendous. For instance there are still circus-like performances at Yangon judging by a couple of photos of elephants on the zoo's website. On a side note there are some real rarities listed, including 4 species of civet, 4 species of eagle, red goral, ferret badger, leopard cat, jungle cat, pangolin, Asiatic jackal, smooth-coated otter and an albino Asian bear.

Is this zoo still going? I thought the collection had been relocated to Naypyidaw a few years ago - I've know idea how it compares to here, and it would be interesting to know if any animals still call Yangon Zoo 'home'.
