Jackwow 5 Aug 2013 This was in the Lory aviary but there was no ID signage for it. It's quite a big bird, significantly bigger than the rest of the Lorys. 26 July 2013

Jackwow 5 Aug 2013 That would make sense as I saw a male Eclectus there but what's with the black ruff around its neck?
vogelcommando 5 Aug 2013 It´s a female Eclectus for sure and the black ruff are the feathers which grow back when a bird plucked itself ( or another bird did it ). Common in lonely kept social dissordered parrots !

B B Benzoo 5 Aug 2013 She has surely plucked herself. No feathers are gone on the head. Another bird would probably had plucked the feathers on the head first.
