Scheepmaker's or Sclater's?

The park signs it as Scheepmaker's.

it's a sclaterii (formerly - or still, depending on your taxonomic inclinations - a subspecies of scheepmakeri so often just called Scheepmaker's Crowned Pigeon). The two can be told apart relatively easily by (especially) the colour of the wing coverts.

It seems a lot more vibrant in colour than any Scheepmaker's I have seen, too.

Thanks, that's a very useful painting. It actually is quite easy to tell them apart.
