I have some concerns over the new bird park being (if true) mostly giant walk-throughs if their focus is to be on species of high conservation value. For the latter I would much prefer them to have individual aviaries and breeding units than huge mixed aviaries. Having a series of walk-throughs is far more for visitor experience than conservation or breeding value.

As do I. I think the new site is also considerably smaller than the current site?
However, it was mentioned that the new park must be completely meshed over for biosecurity purposes, so hopefully the walk-through part is somewhat exaggerated, and there will be walk-through sections within the park, each with many separate aviaries, kind of like the current South-East Asian bird house at Jurong.
