Very unfortunate, especially given the near-seamless integration of so many enclosures with their surroundings at the neighbouring zoo and Night Safari (even if, as you pointed out to us, some of these barriers are obscured with natural vegetation growth over time).
Thank you very much indeed for these photos and comments.
It seems as though the boat ride has fallen far short of being the crowning glory which makes River Safari very special. If anything, it seems to have pulled the standard down a bit. Would you consider that a reasonable comment?
Given the duration and the quality of the ride, I'm a bit surprised that it covers such a large area. Is this just the impression videos and photos give or does it not feel like you're moving through about half of the park?
@devilfish: Design wise River Safari as a whole fell short of expectations, the boat ride included. WRS started out with an ambitious idea with River Safari, but the execution left a lot to be desired. Still, the boat ride completes the park experience and the average visitor would probably find it alright, and kids seem to like it...
The ride does cover a significant part of the park, about 3 hectares. It does feel like you've covered a lot of ground on the ride but at a fast pace.
