One of 4 standalone glass-fronted cages along the path to the yet-to-be-opened boat ride attraction. Another similar cage houses golden-headed lion tamarin. The remaining 2 cages are off-show for now.

Yes, part of the boat ride route had to be redesigned due to safety concerns. But the park expects the ride to be ready later this year.

@Chlidonias: really bad. This area is completely open with no shelter and no mature trees. The cages themselves are roofed over with some skylights, making the outside of the cage much brighter than the inside. I couldn't even get a decent shot of the tamarins.

too bad. What they need is an awning right over the path to shade the glass.

This has a very British feel to it (lush vegetation aside!) - window cut into wooden fence? It could be Tywcross, Colchester, Banham.....

they just need some big cartoon words plastered across the glass reading "We have big beaks"

Along with a predilection to use glass without the slightest apparent understanding of how to avoid or reduce reflections, often rendering viewing even less satisfactory than the bars or mesh that might have been used before.

River Safari seems to be rife with design flaws that would not have been accepted under WRS's previous management.

Well the development of River Safari was passed along 3 different WRS CEOs, 2 of whom left under very unpleasant circumstances and with the organization in less-than-satisfactory financial shape. Plus the in-house design team took charge of most of the exhibit design for River Safari, as opposed to hiring an external, professional design firm. Many of exhibits turned out very unsophisticated in terms of design as a result of the above unfortunate circumstances.
