The old beaver display is now a generic planted tank with only tiny fishes, at least for now. It is fully netted over so it may eventually hold some small mammals or birds, and probably more fish. How it used to look like:

Looks nice but not nearly as impressive subjects (though perhaps more easily visible). What's happened to the beavers?
 
They should bring back the beavers! An interesting species; especially for zoo visitors of Southeast Asia, which does not have beavers.
 
Do you know why Zooish?

The beavers were not active and often overlooked by visitors. Plus this is the first exhibit that visitors see upon entering the park, so I guess the park officials wanted to create a more vibrant and diverse display.

The beaver pair are still at the park, off-exhibit. There will be opportunities for selected visitors to get up close to the beavers in their off-exhibit enclosure this June.
