Another in a long line of brilliant Singapore Zoo habitats. I've got to visit this zoo one day!!! Most other zoos look like junkyards compared to this establishment.
snowleopard - I CAN"T BELIEVE YOU OF ALL PEEPS HAVEN"T BEEN TO SINGAPORE!!!!!!
i'd be interested in particular in your opinion - i went a couple of years ago and i have to say, that gorgeous rainforest - lets just say in more than a few cases it is a good mask for some of the smallest exhibits i've seen in zoos.
its easy to get excited by all that foliage and hidden fences. but the fences are there. and often so much closer than you think.
from memory the jaguars, pygmy hippos, seals, manatees, elephants and warthogs are in APPALLINGLY small spaces.

I have to agree with you on the jaguar and warthog exhibits, pygmy hippo less so (land space is lacking). Elephants are subjective - exhibit space isn't big, but the elephants are free-contact managed so they are walked out of their enclosure daily.
i can't agree with the seal/manatee. The exhibit definitely isn't the largest but "appallingly small" is a completely inappropriate description.
Night Safari like most zoos has its share of hits and misses.
You can say i'm just biased towards my home zoo, but to say any of the enclosures in Singapore Zoo/Night safari is "appallingly" small is a bit of a stretch. You've obviously been fortunate enough to not have visited about 80% of Asian zoos.
Well this is one zoo I'd like to see for myself. And I don't believe there is a truly perfect zoo anywhere. As has been stated, they all have their "hits and misses."
