Even though the pandas will only arrive in late 2011 and displayed in 2012, the sign announcing their impending arrival is already up at the Singapore Zoo entrance...
The Pandas will be housed in a new attraction called "River Safari" that is being carved out of the existing Zoo and Night Safari site. It will open in 2012.
A large part of the Night Safari (East Loop) will be shifted to reserve land at the other end of the park, to make way for the River Safari. A small area of the Zoo (where the old Sun Bear & Camel exhibits used to be; they have been closed and left vacant for several years.) is likely to become part of River Safari too.
