I wonder if they really are Buru babirusa or if Singapore is just using the name B. babyrussa post-splitting as if it were pre-splitting (i.e if the Singapore ones are actually B. celebensis)?
I don't know if this is typical of all specimens of Buru babirusa but presumably they aren't called hairy babirusa for nothing. (I have to say I was never a fan of splitting babirusa until I saw what Buru babirusa actually looked like!)
it is old taxonomy when they list it as Babyrousa babyrussa (https://app.isis.org/abstracts/Abs76909.asp) - now scientific name for Buru babirusa but earlier it was used for all babirusa. There are no real Buru babirusa is captivity anywhere (ok, who knows if some small local zoo in Indonesia has one but certainly none of the well known zoos). All including Singapore Zoo babirusa are the Sulawesi species.
Chlidonias is right when he says the real Buru babirusa has fine hair all over the body. It also has a much more distinct hair tuft at the tip of the tail.
