Are there any long-term plans for this part of the zoo (the old Cat Country)? Presumably jaguars are being phased out, and in time the leopards will move elsewhere within the zoo? I would like to see a dedicated south-east Asian area in the zoo, with all native animals grouped together, but that would be a pretty massive undertaking, and would require some excellent exhibits (e.g. Rift Valley) to be demolished.
I think the leopards will stay since cat country is now considered an extension of Wild Africa - lions leading onto leopards and naked mole rats. After the jaguars move to River Safari, the exhibit will probably be given to an Afrian species.
The closest thing to a Southeat Asian zone would be area form Treetops Trail to the tiger. To group all of the zoo's Southeast Asian would require far too much relocations and rebuilding. Unlikely to happen anytime soon.
