Great photo of a fantastic animal!

Thank you for the comments! The three mouse deer species are my favourite animals in Singapore Zoo~

This is a great photo. I didn't appreciate chevrotains in zoos until I realized that I had been over looking one at the LA Zoo for the last several years. Beautiful critters.

Spotted chevrotains and Balabac chevrotains are my favorite chevrotain species !!!

about Spotted chevrotains they belong to the genus Moschiola and there are actually 3 species with in that genus, those species are

Indian Spotted Chevrotain (Moschiola indica)
Sri Lankan spotted chevrotain (Moschiola meminna)
and
Yellow-striped Chevrotain (Moschiola kathygre)

All those species were thought to be 1 species within a monotypic genus, Sri lankan spotted chevrotains and Yellow striped chevrotains are both native to Sri Lanka but are found in different habitats with Yellow striped chevrotains (Moschiola kathygre) being in wet zone and Sri lankan spotted chevrotains being in dry zone, somebody here on ZooChat mentioned in another thread that the spotted chevrotains at the Singapore Zoo may actually be Yellow striped chevrotains, what do you guys think of that ?

I know that Indian spotted chevrotains have been imported into the United States but I do not know which zoos had them, does anybody know ?

Also I know that some Indian zoos have Indian spotted chevrotains as did a few european zoos, those zoos were Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt, Hannover, Cologne, Leipzig, Paris, Rome, Rotterdam, London and Knowsley Safari park, the ones in Europe may have been Sri lankan spotted because of the scientific name that Zootierliste lists them as

Anyways @baboon I know that one of the squirrels in their exhibit is a Grizzled giant squirrel aka Sri lankan giant squirrel (Ratufa macroura), and also GREAT photo, thanks for posting

I think that the Singapore ones are actually kathygre yes, but formerly they were labelled as meminna (possibly still are). Below is a video I made of them when they were meminna :)
