Chlidonias
back in 2009 this enclosure housed a group of smooth-coated otters. Now sadly they have been replaced with the far more commonplace small-clawed otters.

Are the statues still there? I've never seen anything like this in a live animal exhibit before.

yep, the statues have always been in there. There are lots of animal statues around the zoo -- but not usually inside the actual enclosures!
