Are these elephants used in shows each day? Do you happen to know if they are left chained up outdoors at night? I see that there are tiger photo opportunities elsewhere, and would you guess that the big cats are drugged or would that be much too difficult to ascertain?
I didn't see the daily show so I don't know how many elephants are involved. There may be other facilities, but I think this is where they spend the night. Only a couple had chains on their legs so I don't think many get chained up.
Tiger photos here are less than half the price, and a lot more daring than those offered elsewhere (e.g. Tiger Kingdom Chiang Mai). I prefer to give these places the benefit of the doubt, but people who know a lot more than I do about these animals have said that their lethargic appearance and calm behaviour is consistent with drugging. If it happens elsewhere, then it probably happens here too.
