A forestful of wildlife, May 2013.

A magnificent array of wildlife, sadly all crammed together in little jars of spirits - mostly wines. Animals range from starfish to king cobras, though mostly common species are in the jars. Note also the seahorse door curtains.

What is this place? Are those jars meant to be souvenirs for tourists to buy?

This is a single display inside one of many shops by the port of Nha Trang.
Although they are geared towards foreign tourists to some degree (selling very fancy, museum-standard shells and the odd souvenir), I don't think these are often frequented by tourists. Few sellers spoke any English at all.
My impression is that they're more for locals or maybe visiting Vietnamese tourists. Similar jars/bottles are available throughout the Far East, but these quantities were just unbelievable.

I wonder how many parts of threatened or endangered species are crammed in those jars
