It would be noteworthy / interesting to know which subspecies of sika deer they maintain.
I have been told all current captive sika in Hanoi Zoo should be discarded and are hybrids … between pseudaxis / hortulorum (no pure-bred Vietnam sika - pseudaxis) unfortunately. Same is true for the Ho Chi Minh City Zoo.
