Not sure of subspecies, but most likely [i]siamensis[/i] - apart from the geography the sandy colour recalls the animals I saw at Paris rather than the more familiar brown of [i]thamin[/i] (Burmese Brow-antlered).

They really don't look much like the thamin I'm used to - possibly European-acclimatised animals are more densely-furred!
