Both sao paulo zoo and rio de janiero zoo had interesting european species, wisent, european wolves, european lynx at sao paulo, european lynx, european brown bear, european wolf at riozoo, and of course large herds of red deer at both. I would suppose that some brazilian zoos exchange surplus of their native species to animal collections in europe for their species. maybe some of the brazilian zoochaters can comment more on this.
