Yes, 5 of them are brown woolly monkey´s, (Lagothrix lagothricha), but 3 of them, are Colombian Woolly monkeys (Lagothrix lugens), which is almost endemic if not endemic to Colombia and they are Critically Endangered.
so there are 1.4 brown woolly´s and 1.2 colombian woolly´s
the one of the pic is the male for the Colombian Woolly Monkey
When I was at this zoo in 2012, I'm pretty sure I asked if they had Lagothrix lugens, but I thought their biologist told me they only had Lagothrix lagothricha. I'm certain that Lagothrix lagothricha was the only species labeled. Were both species labeled when you went?
Also would you be able to tell me if either of the following animals is Lagothrix lugens:
Actually I was able to contact their biologist and he was able to identify my photos. The Cali Zoo photo is Lagothrix lugens, while the Los Ocarros photo is Lagothrix lagothricha.
When I have visited (almost weekly) I have been able to talk to the biologist, and even though the specie isn´t 100% confirmed It is very likely and according to some texts 3 of them are Lugens and the rest are lagothricha.
