Zoologico de Cali 2012

common woolly monkey (Lagothrix lagotricha)
What I believe is that this one is one of the females from the lagothricha. although it can be a Lugens.

I sent the Biologist from Cali Zoo my photo and he said he believed it to be lugens. How are you visually distinguishing between the two species?

I can recognize this one because of the backround, which was before Jaziquima was built, and at that time there was only 1 lugens and it was off-show, the 2 on exhibit were lagothricha females.
And the colour of this one is much lighter that the other one, which is darker, like in the picture http://www.zoochat.com/1019/wooly-monkey-325503/

Lastly because the female lugens in the troop are very young and this one looks like an adult, and its clearly not the male since he was off-show by this time

I am not a primatologist, I only base my conclusions of observations, I don't think that it might be lugens, but If you were able to take the picture of the yellow tailed woolly monkey, very likely you saw the lugens one, which wasn´t very far from there.
