This mountain tapir was called Amapola, it lived in the Cali Zoo until 1988 when it was sent to the San Diego Zoo together with some Pacaranas. Unfortunately she died before breeding which meant a huge loss of genetic information as the individual was unrelated to the rest of mountain tapirs in captivity.
