On display at Adelaide is 1 male and 4 females, another male and female are kept behind the scenes. These two arrived at the zoo a couple of months ago.

It's not Melbourne. Still all four there. Unless there's been a straight swap of two for two.
This is a species that I'd like to see pushed hard in Australian zoos. It ticks all the boxes. They're an endangered species, there's a large global captive population (over 600 listed on ISIS) to draw new blood from, there are breeding age animals already in the country and they're a charismatic display species that fits into a zoogeographic theme complemented by other program species (gorillas, chimps, colobus, pygmy hippos and bongos).
Mogo and NZA are both tentatively supportive of the program. I'm confident that the likes of Halls Gap and Cairns Wildlife Safari would get on board if the program became viable. In fact, there's also a moderately sized enclosure next to the gorillas at Taronga that is currently home to De Brazza's monkeys, which are of course a phase-out species...
So if this apparently new pair is indeed newly imported, then that's absolutely fantastic news!
