One of the two netted exhibits for persion leopards in Aalborg Zoo, Denmark. The carnivores are second on the priorities list of new exhibits topped only by the sea lions and penguins.

In 2011, Aalborg Zoo will open a new complex dedicated to big cats. Some suspension bridge will connect differents observation houses to see, behind glass, tigers and lions in new natural exhibits. An underwater viewed for the tiger enclosure is eventually in the plans. Also, they try to have asian lions, and no keep longer african lions and leopards.

Thank you for providing these links. I had not heard of this before. However, I still highly doubt that these exhibit will be ready by 2011. Aalborg Zoo is in quite a bad situation financially and has had to make some major staff cuts.
Apparantly, Aalborg Zoo have been given 10,5 million (1,34 million € / 1,17 million £ / 1,86 million $) danish kroner to build these exhibit. However, they need 20,6 millions (2,76 million € / 2,42 million £ / 3,83 million $) so they are only halfway in securing the funds needed and there is no way of telling when the rest will be available.
The persian leopards were part of the original plan for the new exhibit but it seems now that they will be "phased out" to make for room for the tigers and lions (both of which they plan to swap for more endangered species, eg. asian lions and sumatran tigers).
Aalborg Zoo states that they want to keep leopards again in the future.
