Fabulous! Now that scientists often talk of splitting these animals (into Leopardus braccatus, L. pajeros and L. colocolo) do you have any idea which form these might be?
Regarding the proposed split to three species, the recently published Cat News Special Issue 6 from the IUCN Cat Specialist Group has this to say.
"On the basis of morphological variation in the skull and skeleton, it was suggested to divide the pampas cat into three species. But recent phylogenetic analysis confirms the unity of this species."
