I wish more zoos in the US would exhibit these beautiful birds... Are they common in Europe?
 
I've only seen them before at Walsrode (and they just had a single individual). Loro Parque had a pair on show.

Years ago there was in in a small cage in the old Parrot House at London Zoo . If there are any in the UK now they are probably with private breeders .
 
According to Zootierliste, only one zoo besides Walsrode and Loro Parque has the species in Europe - and it's also in the Canary Islands, Palmitos Park in Gran Canaria.
 
Thanks for the info Maguari.

I think the only zoo in the US that has them is the San Diego Zoo, which is where I first saw this species.
