Many of the horrifically tiny cages at this zoo must be cleaned by the keepers actually walking in with the animals. I'm sure that at times that must be a stressful situation for the inmates of these prison cells.
Yeah, I don't know how the keeper would fit in some of these cages, but I saw someone at the Giza Zoo in Cairo getting into a small cage full of Fennec foxes to clean them out - very strange. It's taking a while to get all of this stuff up, but you'll see more of this later.
Having learned my lesson, and doing my best to avoid accusations involving the dreaded "R-word", I nowadays try to be as politically correct as I can!
So... without putting this picture into any kind of socio-cultural, historical (or other) perspective whatsoever, except, of course, my own personal obsession - animal welfare in zoos:
Can I just say that I hate and despise most of what see in this Egyptian zoo? Can I also just add that of all the atrocities I find this very cage, or possibly the cage for the raccoon, being the worst?
