Cowned Crane outside normal range?

Taken October 2013 between Gondar and the Simien Mountains, Ethiopia. This is I think a grey crowned crane but possibly black, either way according to the maps in my Eastern African bird guide it is outside its normal range. Could anyone give some more information on this? Is the range map wrong? (Apologies for the small photo this is the best I could get at a distance)

It's a Black Crowned Crane (should be ssp. B. p. ceciliae). Gondar and Simien are within range/edge of range in the Helm Birds of the Horn Africa map. :)

I was looking at range maps in Collins Field Guid to Birds of Eastern Africa which is what I use and black crowns crane would be just on the edge but I thought it was grey which is why I thought it was out of its range. Thanks Maguari
:)
