Large Cat cages

Containing lions and Persian Leopard.

Does anyone know how old these ancient cages are? These enclosures are too small for their inhabitants, and aesthetically they are awful.

IMO they'd make better aviaries or outdoor marmoset enclosures than they do homes for big cats.

I think they should send the lions to Monarto and make the lion enclosure for the Persian leopard giving it a massive increase in space. While the other enclosures should be made into aviaries or small mammal enclosures. But one would have to be kept (the one next to the big cage) for when the exhibit is being cleaned out.

The lions are to be deleted from AZ's collection medium term while the persian leopard will not be replaced after it's death.

Therefore, some of these enclosures should be empty in just a few years time.

When they are empty they should be knocked down and something better for animals built instead.

The Persian Leopard Jewel, nicknamed Cubba, died earlier this year in April so now the lion Mujambi and two lionesses Amani and Yizi share the four cages rotating to enable them to leave their sent for each other.
