Givskud Zoo - Additional exhibit

  • Media owner Toddy
  • Date added
The small outdoor additional exhibit by the Chimpanzee House in Givskud Zoo, Denmark. This exhibit is used for various animals that cannot be house elsewhere. It used to house silvery-cheeked hornbills but at this time houses surplus red-fronted lemurs from the Madagascar Island. The animals can also be viewed indoors.

"Additional Exhibits" are my guilty zoo pleasure.I can´t justify liking them as obviously they are never completely adapted to the species being kept there. However, they often have a lot of history and many, many anecdotes as a sort of zoo misfit. Also, they are curiously flexible and you never know what you will find there or how it will work out.

I agree entirely - nothing like that spare exhibit that could have almost anything in it! :)

I am pretty sure that ring-tailed lemurs and guiena pigs have also inhabitet this exhibit. Not at the samt time though :p
