Worth noting that as this photograph was taken in Isalo National Park, this individual is a true Red-Fronted Lemur (Eulemur rufifrons) rather than the very similar Rufous Lemur (Eulemur rufus), which is only found in the north-east of Madagascar.
This taxon comprises the majority of "red-fronted" found in European collections, with relatively few individuals belonging to E. rufus being held in captivity. However, few if any hybrids between the two taxa are known in captivity - although they look very alike, they are not especially closely related; rufifrons is the sister taxon to fulvus, albifrons and sanfordi, whilst rufus is close kin to collaris and cinereiceps.
Yeah, that's what I meant the error is especially egregious considering I had the range-map from Mittermeier et al (2010) in front of me when I typed that!
