Part of the South American drive-through exhibit on the Safari Route in Givskud Zoo. This exhibit contains a large grassy area, some scattered trees and bushes and a watering hole.
The species in here are guanacos (Lama guanaco), capybaras (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) and greater rheas (Rhea americana).
The guanacos arrived in 2009 replacing the alpacas (Lama pacos) originally living here. A pair of lowland tapirs (Tapirus terrestris) also used to live in here.
The Safari Route opened in 1972 and was completely restructured in 1991. After the restructuring it consisted of six drive-through enclosures, one of which was later scrapped to make way for the gorillas and one is no longer drive-through. Currently it consists of one Pampas, one Prairie and two savannahs, one non-drive-through savannah and the lion enclosure.
