Common kusimanse - Drill Ranch, Afi, Nigeria

Semi-wild cuisimanse at Drill Ranch. Very tame.

I like kusimanses (I spell it with a c instead of a k though, does someone know what is correct?) Is this one fed by people or does it find its own food?

cusimanse and kusimanse are both equally valid. I spell it with a c because that is how I first learned it (via Gerald Durrell books, of course).

Either way is technically correct, I believe. I like a 'c' too. This is one of a group that come in (often with totally wild 'friends') from the neighbouring Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary. They aren't 'fed', but they will scavenge quite happily!

I learned to about cusimanses from Gerald Durrell books too. mylast English teacher always told me to read books by another author but I didn't
