Givskud Zoo - Blackbuck enclosure

The large walkthrough enclosure for blackbucks in Givskud Zoo, Denmark. This used to house red-necked wallabies but now holds one of the two herds of blackbucks at the zoo. A very nice enclosure but maybe blackbucks aren't the best inhabitants of a walkthrough enclosure due to their shy nature.

I think a lot depends on the visitors.I am imagining polite Danish people walking through the exhibit , and not disturbing the blackbuck too much. However, that might not work in a country with a louder culture.

On no, the blackbucks are not being disturbed. As you say we do have a polite culture when it comes to that :) I just mean that since blackbucks are so shy of nature they will never get within 10 meters of the visitors, so perhaps another species would be more "visitor friendly".

a few hand raised individuals would help - Adelaide Zoo usually has some younger Black buck as well as Chital deer in their petting zoo and they are usually very friendly

In Denmark the practice of taking out animal cubs to hand raise them just to get them more used to visitors would be highly frowned upon and morally very hard to justify.
