As with the Grey Heron, it always seems strange to see a familiar species in an exotic surrounding! Doubtless to an Aussie, this counted as unfamiliar as well!
Never seen a Lesser Black-backed before, and had a devil of a time identifying it as it's supposedly in it's first year plumage. It looks filthy and appeared to have something stuck in the corner of it's beak. And to make life even more fun, this was the only one, so I don't know if this is how they are meant to look, or if this is a particularly unfortunate one.
