African Savanna 1

A spacious natural enclosure for Common Elands (Taurotragus oryx), Ankole Cattle (or Watusi) and (probably) Rothschild Giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi).

I would never put natural in the same sentence as ankole cattle, yes a very nice exhibit, so many western collections try to recreate this and fail miserably.

Mmmm… though Ankole Cattle may be a domesticated species, it still is a 'species' = thus belong in the natural world, and by the way, I think in Africa it definitely is a 'part' of the natural world as you're not very likely to encounter a place with no hoofed stock of some sort. Even in parks and nature reserves there're constant ongoing 'wars' between the authorities and the local people who want to let their herds graze in the 'green' parks, so I'd say elsewhere you may be right, say in a western zoo, I'd rather see the 'African enclosure' with no cattle but in Africa it's just the way it is… ;)
