New AdventureLand

American black bear exhibit, the first exhibit you encounter when entering the new AdventureLand expansion. And yes, this exhibit is as bad as it looks.

The enclosure looks like an old elephant paddock from the 1930's...ugh.

Whilst shocking, it really wouldn't have been difficult for them to make this an "okay quality" exhibit. Better landscaping, planting and a pool (Correct me if there is one) would have made this much more appropriate. Any idea as to what the exhibit looks like now, or is it still just compacted dirt/sand?

@ThomasNotTom I imagine it still looks the same, though I have not been back to this zoo since and almost certainly will never return.

I should also note that much of this Adventureland is given over to carnival rides.
