Rhesus macaques on the Monkey Temple 1972

I noticed that we have no photo of this old feature from the time when it was actually used for monkeys. I believe it was inspired by Kipling's 'Jungle Book'. It has been empty for many years, which I find surprising as Bristol has such a limited space and I have always thought it a real eyesore. On the other hand, it is a piece of zoo history and I suppose it was a real innovation when it was built in 1928.
 
@gentle lemur I can still remember the noise the little swinging flaps in the Temple made when the monkeys went in and out and how they would sometimes look out while holding a flap up. As you say, a pity its been mothballed for so long but what to do with it?
