A group of manatees feeding in their luxurious pool inside the tropical house that makes up the second part of the Oceanium in Odense Zoo. The manatee pool is shaped as a set of shallow canals going between some islands with one very deep end. It is very possibly the best manatee exhibit in Europe.
Sorry about the picture quality but the water was very naturalistic (i.e murky).
The Oceanium in Odense Zoo is themed as a journey through South America starting from the rainforests in the north going down through the Amazon basin and ending in the Falkland Islands. It is one of the largest projects in any Danish zoo to date and also one of the absolute best. The Oceanium is the cornerstone of the South American theme in Odense and opened in 2001.
