A view inside the Falkland Islands exhibit that makes up the fourth part of the Oceanium in Odense Zoo. This exhibit houses king penguins, gentoo penguins and rockhopper penguins and is one of the absolute best exhibits for antarctic penguins in Europe.
The exhibit has a large land- and water part and the temperature is kept around 0 degrees celsius all the time allowing the exhibit to be filled with loads of ice.
The domed ceiling is painted beautifully like an antarctic sky and the exhibit also creates a dazzling visitor experince.
The Oceanium in Odense Zoo is themed as a journey through South America starting from the rainforests in the north going down through the Amazon basin and ending in the Falkland Islands. It is one of the largest projects in any Danish zoo to date and also one of the absolute best. The Oceanium is the cornerstone of the South American theme in Odense and opened in 2001.
