Benosaurus

Another new giant anteater enclosure and house.

What you're looking at is the former babirusa (recently kangaroo) enclosure. This new house stretches across the middle of that, but not all the way to the back, so presumably both sides will be accessible. However, the enclosure is currently divided by that green fencing you can see, because the kangaroos still occupy the nearer side. Hopefully they'll eventually be moved somewhere else.

Not sure if it will be merged with the new anteater enclosure that's just out of shot, to the right, and home to a female, or if it's solely for a male that may be arriving soon. Can male and female giant anteaters be kept together all the time or must they have separate enclosures?

Anyway, really great to see this corner of the zoo being developed. New species, better exhibits, can't complain. Also goes nicely with the capybara and tapir enclosure a bit further up.
