What is behind this polar bear exhibit? Judging from an online map of the zoo it appears that this particular enclosure is in the bottom right-hand corner and perhaps the forest is the extent of the zoo's acreage. Is that true?
Correct; beyond this exhibit is mixed woodland interspersed with various man-made subchannels of the river Isar - many of which, as noted in my review of Tierpark Hellabrunn, are diverted into the zoo itself to feed the moats and streams which flow throughout.
