The Lynx kittens together

Canada Lynx kittens
It's a shame the zoo didn't advertise these girls like they did the other big births. I'm betting it's because they're in the Domain.

I think that is a safe bet. It really is unfortunate as they are a lot of fun to watch, they can both be quite active.

I agree they would have been a great addition to the other ads. Lynx kittens are adorable. Yet being in the domain probably lowered their value. If they had been born last year they would have been a high value baby but in competition with a rhino, polar bear, lions and pandas they didn't stand a chance. Then add a zebra and camel (who isn't getting his due either).

The question is can next summer equal this summer's baby bonanza. It's possible for zoo fanatics like us but unlikely for regular guests.

Next summer is a very interesting question. I'm optimistic for an orangutan new born, which would attract the public. I would love a tiger cub, but that seems increasingly unlikely. Any idea how long they keep trying until they switch the current female tiger out?

I hope for an orang baby but something is telling me its not going to happen. No reasoning just gut.

I highly doubt a tiger cub too. Given Hari's low genetic value I highly doubt the SSP will swap Kemala out. If she's a dud then at least they are not wasting a high value male with her or valuable space in the states. Highly unlikely she's going anywhere.

Higher likelihood babies... snow leopards, clouded leopards, camel, tur, penguins, pygmy hippo, river otter (if he arrives soon), von deckens hornbill, bison, black footed ferret, vancouver island marmots, shirkes, massassagua rattlesnakes, blandings turtles.

Lower likelihood babies... capybara, wolves (a lot of trying but nothing yet with two females), tree kangaroo, wombat (if something happened unlikely to see the joey in 2017), saki (if the female ever arrives), golden lion tamarin (might have enough), prehensile porcupine (no breeding yet), kookaburra (if male arrives), kudu (I don't know if Ramosita and Owen have been together)

Remote chance that would be welcomed... white rhino (16 month pregnancy rules it out unless one is already pregnant which is not what we have been hearing), cheetah (I'm thinking only if the new female arrives because ours are all duds), zebra if either female has been with Jake since Rey's birth, ostrich always a possibility, komodo, African otter (a certain hot place freezing over is more likely), gorilla (if the ssp decides it though 2018 is more likely), giraffe (highly doubtful until Mstari is 4)

That is quite the list TZFan!
Hopefully some from each of those categories will pan out. It would be difficult to match this past summer for the general public, but there is still a lot of potential there.
Disappointing about the tiger, sounds like we are out of luck there for the foreseeable future.
