Many thanks to San Antonio zoo for assisting Santiago zoo with the exhibits and breeding programs for endangered chilean amphibians.

Great! I'm glad to see this display - thanks for sharing these photos.
Were there many frogs on exhibit? Would you happen to know which population those on display came from?
Also, did you happen to see the pichi displayed in the zoo?

The darwin´s frogs were very good at hiding, but there supposed to be various in this large terrarium and of course others are off exhibit for breeding. There was a nice video on how the frogs were collected but i never wrote down the info on the location where they were obtained.
The pichi is displayed on that small mammal area where the chilla fox, grisons, meerkats, ocelots and marmosets are. The exhibit is not nocturnal and the pichi stayed in his burrow. I was quite disapointed, but then there is another reason to return to Santiago zoo.

This is the darwin´s frog exhibit. Santiago zoo is the only holder of this critically endangered endemic chilean species.
