I was going to upload this photo with the other wildlife ones but I guess I forgot, so here it is.
 
Have you ever thought about setting up some camera traps when you travel around these remote places?
This picture made me think that you might get some interesting stuff if you did.
 
I did meet a guy at Danum Valley a few years back who had set up some traps and got photos of binturong and such-like. I think I would just find it frustrating that I hadn't seen it though.
 
I've done some camera-trapping at Danum as well, but didn't catch anything too interesting (Malay civet, bearded pig, great argus, etc.). It's a useful tool, although I tend to agree with Chli that seeing things with your own eyes is more satisfying. Live-trapping, on the other hand, is great fun.
 
I've contemplated getting a camera trap, but have never done so.
The main thing that's stopped me is the fear of it getting lost or stolen.
