Tropical Waters

Taken 12/5/16. This facility in Scottsdale, AZ is part of the new OdySea In The Desert complex; it claims it is America's largest butterfly conservatory. In addition, it has a handful of smaller terrarium exhibits and an aquarium room called Tropical Waters with 9 medium-sized tanks.
I visited Butterfly Wonderland in August of 2015 and while the greenhouse is massive I actually preferred the aquatic room and the 9 tanks on display. Great photo! Where are the staff monitoring the touch tank? Did you scare them off? :)

I always scare off the staff...they think to themselves "who is this freak taking photos of every exhibit sign?" In fact there was a staff member nearby who fed the horn sharks and California round rays a few minutes after this. He told another visitor that this is not a touch tank, so I think it was designed to be one (there is a built-in handwashing sink mounted on the wall, barely visible on the left side of this photo) but is not currently used as one. I agree this is a nice exhibit room for a rather standard display of mostly freshwater species, but those paper holiday snowflake decorations huddled in one far side of the room drive me nuts...if a facility is going to decorate, at least spread them out evenly!
