Stadium with whale shark, February 2016

This is strange. Is the fish only in there during shows, like a circus animal, or is it kept there with sea lions swimming around?

Whale sharks do tricks? Balance a ball on its nose? Oh! Jump through a hoop!

This is effectively the whale shark tank. The show boasts of how many species they display at each performance, the whale shark being one of them as they feed it towards the end of the show. When there's a lot of commotion at the surface, the whale shark descends to circle the tank at depth. Otherwise it tended to stay relatively close to the surface during my visit.

The whale shark just swim around the pool, but will be feed so that the whale shark will be close to the surface.

I wonder what they feed the whale shark.
