goral enclosure

This enclosure appears to be rather odd, with its stone "racetrack" appearance and metal bars. Japanese serow have all but disappeared from North American zoos but I can see at least 4 in this one exhibit.

@snowleopard: The Menagerie has an excellent hoofstock collection, mostly kept in small "barred" paddocks like this one. Whether or not you're a fan of these displays, on a quiet day there's something quite magical about the experience. You inhabit the history in a way zoos like London and Vienna don't allow.

As a bonus, it can easily be seen on the same day as the recently reopened Paris Zoo. Because you're an ambitious scheduler, the Porte Dorée (before) and Cinéaqua (after) aquariums are also possible. Visiting all four makes for a long day, though!

I think these may actually be Chinese grey goral, no serow in Paris, or near enough anywhere in Europe :(

I change the name to goral instead of japanese serow thank you for correcting :)

And yes these cage's are not the most modern nor are they the best living conditions . but they are perfectly preserved and show how a city zo looked decades ago. Witch I find really quite intresting.
