This animal exhibit (rotational?), along with the black bear/Florida panther enclosure, are basic wire and chain-link cages and come across as a bit disappointing in your photos. I've liked seeing the pools for crocodiles, alligators and river otters but the mammal exhibits in the new Florida Everglades complex are not what I expected. I eagerly look forward to your review of Zoo Miami.
@snowleopard It is indeed rotational. I would have to agree those two exhibits are the weakest parts of the complex although they are by no means bad. One of the black bear yards looks much better in person. However, the river otter, crocodile, alligator, bald eagle, armadillo/burrowing owl/gopher tortoise and bird exhibits are all amazing and I was quite impressed by this complex as a whole. What was your opinion of Amazon and Beyond when you visited?
GraysonDP: I enjoyed Amazon & Beyond and what was most amazing of all is that I saw the complex on opening day back in December of 2008. I live near Vancouver, Canada, but for the only time in my life I was preparing for a Caribbean cruise and so I ended up at Zoo Miami prior to embarking onto the ship the next day. I think that Amazon & Beyond is mainly a very good set of exhibits and the giant otter habitat was spectacular back in 2008. However, there are a number of flaws (glare on large aquatic tank, issues with terrariums that are viewed from outdoors, smallish jaguar exhibits, etc.) but overall I really loved Zoo Miami.
