Is the Wild Africa Trek a new walking trail? Can you actually see the savanna animals on your own without being on the tram ride?

@Arizona Docent It's the park's equivalent to the Caravan Safari at San Diego Safari Park. It is a guided three hour trek and costs a fortune. However, it is the only way to see the savanna properly. Some of it is seen by foot but most is seen by a truck that moves much slower and actually stops for long periods of time to let people watch the animals. You walk above the hippos and crocodiles on a bridge and get to see them from above the habitats. The giraffes and antelope are seen from a deck where lunch is served(it is on the edge of their habitat) and the elephants can be seen from here as well.

Thanks for reply. As for what I thought, I cannot say because we zipped by them so fast in the truck that I have no recollection of the event! :p
